Manipur is well-prepared to fight Coronavirus: CM Biren Singh

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has said that the state is well-prepared to fight Novel Coronavirus disease which has no vaccine and no cure so far. 

In connection with the completion of three years of BJP-led Government, the Chief Minister thanked the Civil Society Organizations, senior citizens and media for their co-operation for providing the right information to prevent the disease. 

He said, in view of proximity with China, the epicentre of Novel Coronavirus, the Indo-Myanmar International border along the Manipur sector has already been sealed and other steps have also been taken.

The Chief Minister also said that the State Government has won the confidence of the people especially the hills during the three years of governance. With the restoration of confidence, the State Government could launch a number of development programmes for the hills, he said.

Referring the steps undertaken by his government to end the trust deficit, Mr Singh said, number of Cabinet meetings were held in the hills and regularly organized Hill Leaders' Day and also Meeyamgi Numit, a public meeting organized by the Chief Minister.

Regarding the Imphal-Jiribam Railway line, Mr Singh expressed the hope that the work will be over by next year.
