Manipur govt to withhold recruitments due to financial stress

The Government of Manipur, on February 22 has decided to put on hold all recruitments with immediate effect due to a dearth of financial resources.

According to a memorandum issued by the state government, the ongoing recruitment processes in all departments including daily wages, contract employment, muster roll, direct recruitment being undertaken by agencies, societies, undertakings, boards, corporations, etc will be on hold for the moment.

The memorandum further added that the written test examination and viva-voce are not to be conducted for any recruitment that comes under the Government of Manipur, the entire proposal for any recruitment process or that needs to be started has to placed before the Committee headed by the Chief Secretary.

The state government will examine issues relating to the rationalisation of posts in all government departments and autonomous bodies which will be followed with specific permission from the Department of Personnel.
