SHILLONG | October 20, 2019:

The mortal remains of Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese, Most Rev Dominic Jala, who passed away on October 10, has arrived in Guwahati Airport; CM Conrad Sangma along with other members of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly were also present at Guwahati airport to receive the body of Archbishop Jala.

The sudden and untimely demise of Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese, Most Rev Dominic Jala in a car accident in California, United States of America on October 11 (Indian time) has created shock and gloomy waves across Meghalaya and the Northeast region.

On the way to Shillong, the mortal remains will be taken to Guwahati Provincial House, Byrnihat Parish, Nongpoh Parish, Umsning Parish and Mawlai Parish. The mortal remains will be kept in his parental home at Mawlai Phudmuri for the night.

From the 21st of October till the funeral, the mortal remains will be kept in the Cathedral Church for the faithful to pay their homage.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday (October 23) at the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christian, Laitumkhrah at 1 pm.
