ILP resolution: Amit Shah to meet Meghalaya delegation today

SHILLONG | FEB 20, 2020:

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has agreed to meet the delegation of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) on Thursday at 7 pm.

"We will be meeting the Union Home Minister tomorrow," Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma informed over telephone from Delhi on Wednesday night.

According to him, the delegation of the MDA was supposed to meet him on Wednesday evening at 10 pm.

"But because of the different programme and meetings he (Amit Shah) could not meet us. Even tomorrow morning he will be having a programme in Arunachal Pradesh," Sangma said. Meghalaya Chief Minister also informed that he (Amit Shah) had called him and told he was sorry that he could not meet them.

According to him, all the coalition partners of the MDA including PDF, HSPDP, UDP are in Delhi except for the BJP. "The BJP was present in Delhi. But they decide to return today," he said.

It may be mentioned Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, Cabinet Ministers among others are currently camping in Delhi.

The delegation of the MDA is expected to raise the resolution adopted by the Assembly on implementation of ILP in the State during its meeting with the Union Home Minister.
