EC appoints DM, RO for East and West Tripura Lok Sabha Constituencies

An official notification has been issued by the election commission to appoint Shardindu Chowdhury who is the additional secretary in the home department, as District Magistrate of Dhalai district and Returning Officer of East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.

Meanwhile, Vikash Singh, DM (Dhalai), has been appointed as RO of West Tripura constituency.
It was conjectured earlier that Sandip Mahatme, RO of West Tripura, would be appointed to the post of RO of East Tripura. However Mahatme was not appointed as he is unwilling to take over the post.
