Taking note of the time frame set by Government of India to resolve the Indo Naga Political Issue which has reached a crucial stage, the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) in a press statement has urged the Naga Political Groups "not to fail the Nagas at this crucial hour".
The NTC has appealed to Government of India and the negotiating groups (NSCN-IM and NNPGs) not to opt for avenues that could delay in resolving the Indo Naga Political issue.
The NTC said, "with so much labour the negotiations have now reached a very crucial stage and should not be allowed the process to become a futile exercise and if any entity tends to undermine the humbleness, the committment and the participation, of the other, it will be a loss to oneself than to the other".
It urged all sides to have an open mind and be bold in concluding the peace process with a solution and should any entity fail to realize how vital the ongoing negotiations are, the ultimate result of such negligence will be nothing more than regret.
The NTC also opined that, "should there be any contentious issue/issues remaining unresolved such must not be allowed to become the roadblock to any solution and any issue which is of common interest will remain to be the collective responsibility of the Nagas to pursue post solution".
The NTC expressed hope that the political solution will not only resolve those issue being dealt with by the negotiators but it will have much positive impact on the overall scenario.
