Assam Rifles, Megh Police bust drug racket active in Shillong

SHILLONG | NOV 23, 2019:

In yet another effort to control the supply chain of drugs into Meghalaya from different states, the Assam Rifles along with Meghalaya police have arrested two persons after drugs suspected to be Yaba tablets were recovered from their possession on Wednesday.

Intelligence Unit of Assam Rifles along with Meghalaya police had busted a drug racket which was active in Shillong city and nearby areas.

The security officials apprehended two drug peddlers on November 20 and had also recovered about 19,200 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 19 Lakh from their possession.

It may be mentioned that earlier this month, a team of Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) along with city police had arrested three person after drugs suspected to be heroin was found from their possessions in Lumshnong, EJH.
