Arunachal Pradesh: NSCN-R cadre apprehended in Kharsang

ITANAGAR

A joint team of Army and Arunachal police apprehended a hardcore NSCN (R) cadre on February 15 at Kharsang area of Arunachal Pradesh.

The cadre identified as self-styled Sergeant Major Sengjong Khimhun, a resident of Saching in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

One 7.65 mm pistol and six rounds of live ammunition were recovered from his possession.

“Based on information received regarding the movement of the NSCN cadre, we conducted an operation and apprehended him from Kharsang area of Arunachal Pradesh. We have started our interrogation,” said a police source.

The cadre was later handed over to Kharsang police station for further interrogation.
