Nagaland: No tourists allowed to visit Dzükou valley, Naga heritage village in view of coronavirus outbreak

KOHIMA | March 15:

In view of the global coronavirus outbreak, Southern Angami Youth Organisation has temporarily stopped all foreign and domestic tourists from travelling within its jurisdiction from tomorrow until further notice.

Since this region houses many tourist spots, the organisation has "suspended" travel passes particularly trekking to Dzükou valley and visit to Naga heritage, Kisama.

As precautionary measures, the Organisation therefore appealed all the tourists and public to avoid visiting the said places for safety of the people.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has advised people to follow basic protective measures so that they can keep themselves safe from the Novel Coronavirus.

People should avoid participating in large gatherings. If a person is experiencing cough and fever he or she should avoid close contact with others. People are advised not to touch their eyes, nose and mouth without cleaning their hands. Spitting in public places should be avoided. Everyone should wash their hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol based hand-rub.
