23 fresh cases of COVID-19 detected, total confirmed cases climb to 107

NEW DELHI | March 15:

Twenty three fresh cases of COVID 19 have been detected in the country taking the total number of positive cases to 107. Out of the new cases, 17 confirmed cases have been reported from Maharashtra, 3 from Kerala, 2 from Telangana and one from Rajasthan.

Out of total confirmed cases so far nine patients were discharged and two persons lost their lives. Briefing media in New Delhi, Special Secretary, Sanjeeva Kumar said that the government has also made the first test and second confirmatory test for novel coronavirus free of cost for the Indian citizens.

The special secretary informed that a dedicated, round the clock helpline 9971876591 has been set up at AIIMS, New Delhi which will be manned by the doctors.

Kumar also informed that a patient in Buldhana of Maharashtra admitted at a private hospital, whose sample was taken and died yesterday, has tested negative for COVID19. 

The secretarty said that third batch of 236 evacuees from Iran has arrived today and are being quarantined at the Army facility in Jaisalmer.
