AGARTALA, November 20: Now chicken-lovers of Tripura could get a bite of fried chicken without flying to outside their home state. After gaining popularity in most of the northeastern states especially in Shillong, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has launched its next franchise in Agartala on Sunday.

Large queue comprising of young, couples and aged was noticed in front of the restaurant since its inauguration.

The chicken hub was supposed to be launched on November 15 but was postponed due to construction work of the restaurant building.

"We are about to give some inauguration offer today. But as it is late today, we are planning to introduce the offer soon," said Biswajit Debbarma, an employee of newly-launched KFC while serving customers.

Except Imphal, KFC has already registered countless foodies in all the northeastern states, claimed builder of the restaurant building – Bijit Kumar Banik.

"Chicken is being brought here from Arambagh. This Agartala outlet is also getting support from Guwahati outlet," said Banik.

Sharing good experience regarding KFC during her tour to Shillong, Dipika Chakraborty, a school teacher said that the KFC is the brand that could meet chicken-lovers' appetite fully.

"It's good to taste KFC chicken in hometown. I became fan of KFC after I found it yummy in Shillong. Hope, it will also give the similar kind of service," she said.

However, she feels that the other branded restaurants would not get lost in dark in the competitive market.

Sarmistha Das, a beautician who came along with her family said, "Great to have KFC in my place. But the queue is too long that made most of the customers keep waiting outside the building."
