AGARTALA, April 26, 2017: After failing to get Tripura government's stand on 'The Constitutional (One Hundred and Twenty third Amendment) Bill, 2015, the tribal students' body under the banner 'Twipra Students' Federation' sat for demonstration in front of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council headquarters in Khumulwung from Wednesday morning.

More than 100 members of the TSF took part in the agitation that continued for six hours.

Amidst the stir, a delegation also gave memorandum to Chief Executive Member of TTAADC addressing to union Minister of Home Affairs – Rajnath Singh seeking his intervention and adopt steps in this regard.

" We are pleased that the central government is upto strengthening the tribal areas under Sixth Schedule by the proposed 'The Constitutional (One Hundred and Twenty-third Amendment), Bill, 2015 . But surprisingly, neither the Tripura government nor the TTAADC has replied to letters signed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs till date. So, we urge for the Home Affairs to intervene in this regard," a TSF member said.
