Tripura: CM orders administrative officials for proper measures to fight flood!

AGARTALA JUNE 20 : Chief Minister Manik Sarkar asked the administrative officials and disaster men to take necessary steps to fight with the natural calamity that made over a thousand families homeless and damaged huge properties.

Sarkar, during a review meeting held at Civil Secretariat recently, asked the district magistrates to keep the control rooms open 24×7 and provide necessary things to the flood-affected victims in the relief camps.

Government record claimed 1, 889 families were affected in the flood from West Tripura District and parts of Khowai District so far. Total 1101 vicitms from West Tripura and 788 from Khowai District were rehabilitated in total 39 camps opened in the flood-hit areas.

More than hundred houses were damaged fully or partially, huge farm fields were destroyed in the flash floods. Many electrical posts were damaged and trees were uprooted. However, unofficial sources claimed the the loss is much higher.

With the heavy rainfall, water-levels in major rivers like Howrah and Khowai have continued to rise.
