AGARTALA: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday has decided to knock the DGP's door seeking proper probe into the murder of  senior party leader two days ago at a tribal-dominated village of Tripura's Dhalai District.
"We will meet the DGP to seek a proper investigation into the murder case. We suspect that the investigating police officer is not looking into the matter with serious concern. However, the people of Dhalai District are giving response to the bandh despite the Left supporters' attempt to oppose it," BJP leader Kalyani Roy said today.
A protest rally would be conducted throughout the state in the evening, she said.
Chanmohan Tripura, elected member of Dalpati ADC village committee and also president of BJP's Janajati Yuva Morcha, Gandacherra Mandal committee was beaten to death by a man reportedly suffering from mental illness on December 26.

However, police arrested one Biswada Tripura, suspect of the murder. The court sent him to jail custody for a week.
The party called for a 12-hour strike in Dhalai District on Friday to protest against the murder of a senior leader .
According to sources, commuters faced hardships as a section of public vehicles remained off the road. However, few shops were seen opened during the strike.
