Tripura: 25 students expelled for indiscipline behavior from NIT

Agartala, Sep 02, 2017 : Altogether 25 students were expelled by The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala, authority for indiscipline behavior and unruly activities.

This was informed by the acting director of NIT, Dr Ajay Kumar Roy in an interaction with the media in the NIT auditorium .

'Recently there had been disturbances in the NIT campus caused by a group of students and after an inquiry we found twenty five students guilty of indiscipline and unruly activities and have expelled them from hostel' said Dr Roy.

He asserted that NIT would not spare any student found to have indulged in indiscipline and every student must have 75% recorded attendance without which nobody will be allowed to sit for exams. 'We have nothing to hide in this regard ; everything is on board and the expulsion is the result of an inquiry' said Dr Roy.

He added that NIT authority have requested the state government not to allow opening of any liquor shop within 5-10 kms of NIT. 'The matter is under consideration of the state government and we are sure that an appropriate decision will be taken' said Dr Ajay Roy.
