Meghalaya Government to come up with two e-learning centres

Shillong, July, 03, 2017: With the objective to help the youth of the State, the Meghalaya Government has proposed to set up two e-learning centers in the State.

The two centres will cater to students from the State who would be appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) from Meghalaya.

Talking to media persons after the proposal meeting of the working group of the Meghalaya State Planning Board here on Monday; Co-Chairman of the State Planning Board, John Kharshiing said that initially they will start with a batch of 25 students adding that the numbers of students to be inducted in these centres will be further increased during the later stages.

Kharshiiing also informed that a total number of 1000 plus schools have also been benefitted from the Information Technology Education Schemes which has been jointly funded by the NEC.

The State Planning Board Co-Chairman also informed that the Government will also come up with the two digital planetariums in the state which would help students grasp abstract astronomical concepts and can spark enjoyment and interest in science.

Moreover, the working group also informed that the four Governor departments including Information Technology and Communication,  Science and Technology, Mining and Geology and Forest and Environment department have manage to achieved 90 percent in the implementation of the various projects between the year 2014-2017.
