Meghalaya Fifth Pay Commission likely to submit its report by July end
Shillong, July, 03, 2017: The Meghalaya Fifth Pay Commission is likely to submit its report to the State Government by the end of July 2017.
Sources on Monday informed that the commission has recommended an overall pay hike of 25 percent.
According to sources, the Government will have to examine the report and take a final call on the recommendations made by the commission.
"The Government can ask the commission to review if it is not entirely happy with the recommendations indicated by the pay commission in the report," sources said.
It may be mentioned that the pay commission is headed by former Chief secretary P J Bazely as the chairman while the members includes retired bureaucrats Uttam K Sangma and Lambha Roy.
It may be mentioned that the last time the state government announced a pay hike for its employees was in 2009 when it ordered an overall pay hike of 32 per cent with retrospective effect from January 1, 2007 in line with the recommendation of the 4th Pay Commission.
