Meghalaya: After 65 years, KHADC finally gets its new Session Hall!

Shillong, June, 17, 2017: After nearly 65 years, the Khasi Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has got its new Session Hall which is more or less equivalent to the Session Hall of the Autonomous District Councils in the others parts of Northeastern States.

The new session hall of the Council was inaugurated yesterday by its chairman LG Nongsiej in the presence of Council CEM, Pynshngain N Syiem, the MDCs and senior officers of the Council.

Speaking on the occasion, Nongsiej said that after a long wait of nearly 65 years, the Council has finally got its new Session Hall to hold the Council sessions.

The Council will be holding its Summer Session which is scheduled to begin from June 20 in the new Session Hall.

According to KHADC CEM, the total expenditure for this new Legislative building which houses the new Session Hall is around Rs. 4.74 crore adding that the funds for this project has been earmarked through the 13th Finance Commission.
