Indian goalkeeper makes debut at Europa League qualifiers

The first Indian player to play in the Europa League is none other than India international goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. The Indian who plays for Norweigian Tippeligaen club Stabaek was named in the starting 11 for the first round of qualifying match against Welsh side Connah's Quay Nomads.

The goalie had to however come off after 27 minutes due to a hand injury but it is believed to be minor and he will be back in time for the second leg on July 7.

The 24 year old has been capped 12 times by the Indian team (senior level) and was a vital during India's route to winning the SAFF tournament earlier this year.
