Fans throw flares on pitch to disrupt Croatia- Czech Republic match
Italy has booked it's spot in the round of 16 from Group E as it beat Sweden 1-0 in yesterday's match. Brazilian born Eder scored the lone goal of the match at the 88th minute which brought their points tally to 6. They are the second team to qualify after hosts France.
The second match of the day saw Czech republic take on Croatia. Croatia dominated the match with possession and were also the better side. the first goal came from Ivan Perisic in the 37th minute, then in the 59th minute Ivan Rakitic scored another goal for the Croatian side. The Czech Republic team looked weak especially in the back but in the 67th minute, Milan Skoda came on for David Lafata who then scored a goal in the 76th minute. Around the 80th minute, Croatian fans threw flares on to the pitch which caused the match to stop. The players urged their fans to calm down and let the match continue without any interference which eventually did after a long while. This however had caused a lapse in their concentration as Croatian defender Domagoj Vida handled the ball in the penalty area, Tomas Necid then steps up to take the penalty and scores the equalizer with the final scoreline 2-2.
Spain vs Turkey was the last match of the night with Spain clearly dominating on all fronts. The Spanish side had a total of 19 shots on goal and had 61% of the ball possession. The first goal came at the 34th minute by Alvaro Morata. The second was score by Nolito in the 37th minute who was also responsible for assisting the first goal. The Turkish side were clearly in trouble but went to half time hoping they could make a difference in the second half. Alvaro Morata scored the third and final goal of the match in the 48th minute. The final scoreline 3-0 to the Spanish side.
Today's matches will see Belgium take on Ireland at 6:30 pm, Iceland take on Hungary at 9:30 pm while Portugal will take on Austria at 12:30 am.
