Sikkim’s Bandana Rai- creating a niche in fashion world by dint of sheer hard work and passion | TNT EXCLUSIVE

Beautiful, charming, honest and extremely talented are the few words that would perfectly define Bandana Rai. The 'Gorkha girl' of Sikkim has proved that Northeastern states are no longer bound by the hills and mountains but are blessed with potentials. The beauty queen from Sikkim not only won the coveted crown but conquered hearts as well. Marking the beginning of her journey and en-route to making her dreams into a reality, Bandana Rai from Sikkim recently won the title tag of Miss India 2018 title at the Allure Fashion Tour (AFT) Mrs. & Miss India pageant held in New Delhi on May 4. She was conferred the title by Dev Jindal, owner of Allure Tabloid. Bandana also won the title of Miss Ramp Walk at the beauty pageant. She was the only contestant from Northeast India to have won the crown thereby opening up a wide plethora of opportunities for her. Here is Bandana Rai in an exclusive interview with TNT- the Northeast Today.

TNT – First of all I would like to congratulate you on behalf of the TNT-the Northeasttoday News Team for winning the prestigious title crown of Miss India by AFT in Delhi. How do you feel after winning Miss India 2018 Allure Fashion Tour Crown?

BANDANA RAI: I feel honoured and happy for my achievement. As it was my first attempt to compete in a National stage which left a quote within me ie. "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying , sacrifice and most of all to do which impacts success in any field you choose.

TNT- What is your take-away from this competition?

BANDANA RAI: The main take-away for me from the competition is to stay united with ever people from different places and stay spiritually strong on what you are up to.

TNT- Which round do you think you enjoyed the most in the entire competition? Why?

BANDANA RAI: There was not just one memorable round that I enjoyed but the entire competition was awesome. There were so many precious moments and special rounds and I enjoyed each and everything fullest.I got to meet new people,who treated me with so much of love and care.

TNT- What was your family contribution in winning the competition?

BANDANA RAI: My family is like my backbone who always contributes their Support,Love and courage in any field that I choose and that backbone never let me loose my stiffness on what I do.

TNT- Tell us about the problems that you had to face before entering the modeling/participating in the contest?

BANDANA RAI: I didn't face any problem regarding the entrance in the modelling field nor contest because modelling is where I want to step my feet as a carrier and mom says to follow your own dreams.

TNT- It came to my knowledge that you will be participating for the Femina Miss India 2019, so tell us about preparation?

BANDANA RAI: Yes my eyes are on "Femina Miss India 2019" and to achieve my dream I'm preparing myself as best as possible.
