Adil Hussain to star alongside British actor Antonio Aakeel in ‘Footprints On Water’

Internationally acclaimed actor, Adil Hussain will be sharing screen space with British actor, Antonio Aakeel in the upcoming British-Indian feature film ‘Footprints On Water’.
‘Footprints On Water’ will narrate the story of an illegal immigrant father in the United Kingdom (UK) who is frantically searching for his missing daughter while trying to avoid the police radar, according to Variety.
The film will also portray the lives of immigrants of various nationalities who travel to the UK, hoping to turn their lives around.
The 'Hotel Salvation' actor will be playing the role of a father and Aakeel of an Afghani refugee. Malayali actor Lena Kumar will portray Hussain's wife and the missing girl's step-mother. Nimisha Sajayan, who was the lead in the drama/thriller 'Chola' (Shadow of Water) will play the daughter.
Hussain shared the news on Twitter and wrote, “This is a role that I am eagerly waiting to breathe life into. Wish us luck please. Shooting starts in Birmingham in December. Director @nathaliasyam thank you @namanrs @Variety.”

Written by Neetha Syam, ‘Footprints On Water’ is being directed by Nathalia Syam. The shooting will commence at locations in and around Birmingham in December.
Hussain told Variety that the film has been written by two sisters and that he feels like it's their first-hand experience which they have painted in words.
