Suspected NSCN (R) cadre slain in Arunachal Pradesh

A team of Assam Rifles personnel gunned down one suspected NSCN (R) cadre in an encounter at Motong village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on March 16.

They have identified the slain cadre as Kappan Ngemu of Thamyang village in Yatdam circle.

According to the police, the encounter happened around noon.

According to a reliable source, a group of militants opened fire on the security personnel, and one of them was killed in the encounter.

The others escaped, the source stated.

“One AK-47 rifle and 17 live rounds were recovered from the militant,” Changlang SP Mihin Gambo said.
