SHILLONG | AUGUST 1, 2020:

At this hour, when natural calamities and pandemic are both making the lives of a common man difficult, the artists have come together to aid those affected by floods in the Garo Hills region.

The musician fraternity from Meghalaya performed in the virtual platform to raise funds for the flood-affected in Garo Hills on July, 31.

The hour-long concert featuring various national and international artists also witnessed prominent artistes from Meghalaya like the "Aroha Choir", a special appearance by Ibarisha Lynda( Female lead singer of Shillong Chamber Choir) and many more.

It was organized by Serena Langstieh and Saiaphi Lyndem in collaboration with Pino Entertainment in the aid of flood victims in the Garo Hills region.

"The whole idea came to us after we saw a post on how two individuals ( Saiaphi Lyndem and Serena Langtieh ) were doing their bit and raising funds for the flood-affected areas of Garo Hills. They were supported by Pino Entertainment in this and in the same way we wanted to lend our support to them as well.

We then decided on the idea when we realized that some of us were not able to contribute to the cause since we were lacking in the financial funds. So my friends and I (Damesha M. Warbah, Baniakitlang Dohtdong, Eshaan Kharmalki, and Aethan Ryndem) did virtual fundraising on YouTube.

This fundraiser was in the form of an hour-long video. The funds will be generated via ad revenue from the video and the amount in its entirety will go to the cause.

Therefore, the viewers would be indirectly contributing to the cause by watching the ads in the video," said one of the organizers.

The plain belts of the region were entirely flooded by incessant rains in July.
