World’s largest cricket stadium has a Tripura connection

The world’s largest spectator cricket stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, inaugurated in February 2020 - a record which was earlier held by the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia has some connection with the state of Tripura.
It is interesting to note that the chief pitch curator for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Asish Bhowmik, is from Tripura and his name is attached with the Motera stadium.
Bhowmik played first-class cricket for Tripura and was a well-known fast bowler in state club cricket.
The biggest boundary line is in Motera at 75 yards to the north to south and 65 yards to the east to west. Here, of course, Melbourne is a little ahead at 100 yards.
Within two-and-a-half years, Larsen & Toubro completed the work of the entire stadium, including the clubhouse and pavilion.
Daljit Singh, who started the pitch work, could not finish, and they let Bhowmik take charge since 2019.
Bhowmik is presently the Chief Curator for the BCCI.
He has worked tirelessly for the last four months and created the outfield with the help of whole sand to help during rains, as the field would be dry and suitable for play within half an hour after the rains stop.
