Two dead, several injured in Tripura road accident

Two people died in a road accident on December 28 in Dhalai district of Agartala when a jeep fell over a gorge.

The group comprising 32 people were travelling from Ambassa to Chawmanu for a cultural programme.

The two deceased Laxmibati Reang (32) and Birendra Reang (70) died on the spot, while 20 others sustained serious injuries, and were rushed to GBP Hospital in Agartala, according to police sources.

“The overloaded vehicle fell over the gorge while trying to take a sharp bend in the Labancherra area at 11:30 am,” as per the reports received from the police.
