Tripura to get 56,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccines

The Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Tripura, Dr Siddhartha Jaiswal, on Wednesday, said that 56,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccines would reach Agartala within two days.

“All arrangements have been made for storage of Covid vaccine in the Health departments store at Gurkhabasti,” he said.

“The doses will be taken to the vaccination centres to all the districts. The first phase of vaccination will start on January 16, and around 45,000 health workers will be vaccinated against Covid in the first phase,” he said.

“In the second phase, about 90,000 field staff will be vaccinated. In the third phase, about nine lakh people will be vaccinated. Those who get the vaccine will have to get the vaccine again after 30 days,” he added.
