Tripura public block roads, demand authorities to address water problems

AGARTALA:

Water scarcity has put people to take extreme steps in Tripura, and the people are resorting to blocking roads to highlight their plight.

Roads were blocked in Behalabari of Khowai district and Damchhara in North district on Thursday and Friday.

In the past week, several such incidents were reported when the public blocked the national highways for few hours.

According to sources, women in the area sit on the streets with buckets in their hand showing the plight of how difficult the situation has become.

Notably, during the dry season, the people in the region face a lot of issues to get drinking water and the supply from the district administration is limited.
