Tripura police seize cannabis worth over Rs one crore from oil tanker

AGARTALA:

Police arrested two persons and seized 1200 kilograms of cannabis from an oil tanker at Churaibari area in North Tripura on Monday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Umesh Singh and Pappu Roy, both hailing from Bihar.

Based on information received, the police conducted an operation at Churaibari area and seized 60 packets of cannabis from the oil tanker, Northern District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty said.

According to the police, the seized cannabis is worth about one crore and 20 lakh rupees.

Two days ago, Tamil Nadu police recovered cannabis from a truck delivering fish to Tripura.
