AGARTALA:

Twenty-three-year old Adarsh De, a medical student, was found hanging in his hostel room at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) on December 28.

Adarsh, a resident of Belonia in South Tripura, was in his ninth semester and was known for being a bright student.

The students of AGMC claim that his death was not the result of suicide but something else entirely.

According to sources, there was nothing unusual in De's behaviour during the day.

Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) hospital confirmed that the body was found in the hostel room. They did not, however, ascertain the cause of death.

Sources said that De attended all his classes the previous day but disappeared in the evening.

After his batch-mates failed to contact him, they broke the door of his hostel room and found the body.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
