AGARTALA:

Tripura Government has decided to include journalists in the list of COVID-19 warriors who will receive vaccination in the second phase.

Tripura is arguably the first state in Northeast India to take such a decision for the welfare of journalists.

According to the Cabinet Minister Ratan Lal Nath, the government has decided to provide vaccine to the journalists in the second phase along with other COVID warriors like police, armed forces and cleaning staff.

"The cabinet today (Jan 28) cleared a proposal for inclusion of journalists in the list of the second phase of Covid-19 immunisation programme", Nath said on Thursday evening.

The Agartala Press Club had earlier demanded free corona vaccines for journalists as frontline COVID warriors.
