Tripura is preparing for COVID-19 vaccination

State education minister Ratan Lal Nath has said that the Tripura government has got a new standard operating procedure from the Health ministry regarding the new strain of the coronavirus.

Nath mentioned that “On the preparations for combating the threat of the new strain, the state government already started a process for purchasing a Sequencing Machine”.

Five people who came from the UK between November 26 to December 28 were tested for COVID-19, and one was tested positive.

The state government has made arrangements and identified Panchayati Raj Training Institute (PRTI) Women’s Hostel as a quarantine centre, if any positive case is found.

"As of now, 44,521 health workers and 2263 session sites have been identified, and the database has been uploaded in the government portal. Besides, 1429 vaccinators have been kept ready while six team members for each session team have already been identified,” Nath added.
