Tripura High Court orders regularisation of SSA teachers

AGARTALA:

The Tripura High Court on February 23 pronounced its verdict to regularise all the teachers who are working under the Sarva Siksha Mission in Tripura.

Speaking to reporters, Senior lawyer Purushottom Roy Barman said that over 4,000 primary and upper primary teachers will benefit from the judgement.

The case was heard in the double bench comprising Chief Justice AA Kureshi and Justice SG Chattopadhyay.

The double bench of Tripura High Court pronounced that SSA teachers who have completed five years of service to the state government should be regularised.

It may be mentioned that in 2017, the BJP party as opposition, had promised that the SSA teachers will be regularised once voted to power.

However on assumption of power they ignored the issue stating that their (SSA teachers) regularisation is a central project.
