AGARTALA:

Tripura High Court on Friday ordered the state government to provide a regular pay scale to the 962 science graduate teachers recruited in 2012.

A single bench of the Tripura High Court headed by Chief Justice AA Kureshi said, the state government should provide regular pay scale and all their dues within six months.

The then left-front (CPI-M) government had recruited the 962 science graduate teachers in 2012, senior lawyer Purushottom Roy Barman said.

According to the state government, the teachers will get all the other benefits along with the regular pay scale after completing five years of their fixed pay contractual service. Their five years of contractual services as fixed pay teachers ended in July 2017, making them eligible for regular pay scale.

The Tripura High court on Friday stood behind the 962 science stream teachers appointed in the year 2012.

The Chief Justice of Tripura High Court directed the government to pay the outstanding salary of three years, along with arrears to the deprived teachers.
