Tripura govt inaugurates adventure tourism in Agartala

Tripura Tourism Minister Pranjit Singha Roy inaugurated the adventure tourism fair at Vivekananda ground in Agartala on Saturday morning.

Several other officers of the tourism department also attended the inauguration programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Roy said that the Tripura government wants to emphasise and highlight adventure tourism in the state.

"The state of Tripura has plenty of natural tourist spots. Its God's gifted treasure to the state. Now we have to utilise those and decorated those spots," Roy said.

"The Chief Minister wants to develop the tourist spots for the betterment of Tripura," he added.

He said, they have already developed eco-tourism and spiritual tourism, while tea-tourism is underway in Tripura.

Adventure tourism was supposed to be launched in 2020, but the same did not materialise due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he added.

Tourism was reopened in the state on October 1, 2020, and the state government is planning to expand this sector.
