Tripura CM visits families of Panisagar victims, provides financial assistance

AGARTALA:

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, on Sunday, visited the families of the victims who were affected by the Panisagar incident.

Deb handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the families of deceased firemen Biswajit Debbarma and Srikanta Das.

Deb was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma and Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kumar Jamtia.

The Joint Movement Committee (JMC), had organised several protests and agitation programmes like bandhs, blockades and on November 21, their clash turned violent and led to the death of two firemen.
