AGARTALA:

With the elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) just around the corner, The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) is still undecided about the seat-sharing arrangement with Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT).

According to TIPRA General Secretary Animesh Debbarma, discussions are ongoing with the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) but so far, they have not been able to reach an agreement.

"Till now, they (IPFT) have not mentioned how many seats they want or which seats they want," Debbarma said here on Thursday.

TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman is looking into this matter, he said, adding that talks with IPFT leaders are still on.

"A concrete result will come within a few days," Debbarma added.

Similarly, a seat-sharing arrangement between TIPRA and INPT is also still undecided.

"Discussion with INPT is also still going on. We may have some more meetings with INPT leaders," the TIPRA GS said.

The last date of filing of nomination for the upcoming ADC election scheduled to be held on April 4 is March 12.

However, the political parties are yet to declare their list of candidates.
