Tripura ADC polls: BJP expels 11 party leaders for six years

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has expelled eleven party leaders on Thursday, in a bid to "stop the ongoing bickering within the party".

“Eleven leaders have been expelled for six years for tarnishing the party’s image,” party spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Subrata Chakraborty said, “Few are spreading propaganda against the party. So action has been taken against them.”

It may be mentioned that since the announcement of the list of candidates for the Autonomous District Council elections, some members of the BJP started revolting against the party leadership.

According to party sources, of the 11 people who have been expelled, two are Mondal presidents and, one is the party’s district vice-president. The rest are Janajati Morcha leaders and party Mandal level leaders.

The BJP spokesperson added that they will not tolerate any activity that will tarnish the image of the party.
