The number of polling stations has been increased as compared to the last ADC election. The number of polling stations is 1244.

The ADC’s tenure expired on May 17 last year but, the election was postponed for six months due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and an administrator was appointed to head the Council.

However, after six months, the State Government extended the term of the administrator for another six months last November.

A few lawyers had filed a case in the Tripura High Court demanding the speedy election of ADC. Subsequently, the Court ordered the ADC election to be conducted within May 17.
