TIPRA party organises mass rally in Tripura's Sepahijala district

AGARTALA:

The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA), organised a mass rally at Bishramgang of Sepahijala district, Tripura, on Friday.

The rally was spearheaded by Party Chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarman and was also joined by Bijoy Hrangkhal, Chitta Ranjan Debbarma, Budhu Debbarma of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT).

Addressing the gathering, Pradyot, without mentioning names, said that he was "betrayed" by some people.

"Some leaders are misguiding the Tiprasa (tribals) people for their interest," he said.

Sources from IPFT and TIPRA said that there would be no seat-sharing between these two parties in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.

"The rumours will be cleared tomorrow," Pradyot added.

On claims and allegations levelled against him of being "communal", he clarified that he has never said anything against any community.

"It is time to stand united and vote for TIPRA," the royal scion said.

It may be noted that the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) has forged a new alliance with the Pradyot Manikya-led TIPRA ahead of the ADC polls, much to the dismay of the BJP.
