Three-day special COVID vaccination drive in Tripura from March 24

The Tripura government will conduct a three-day special COVID vaccination drive from March 24 to 26 in view of the fresh surge in COVID-19 cases.

Citizens between 45 to 59 years and suffering from hypertension, diabetes, and other diseases can take the vaccine from anywhere in the state.

A health official said those who are above 60 years can also take the vaccine.

About 43 thousand health care staff and 57 thousand field-level staff and, around one lakh 75 thousand people have been vaccinated so far, National Health Mission-Tripura Director Siddharth Shiv Jaisawal informed.

According to a health bulletin, 53 people tested COVID-19 positive this month in Tripura.

In the last 24 hours, six more people tested positive for the virus, taking the number of positive cases to 38.

One patient died due to COVID-19 this month, taking the total number of deaths to 389 in Tripura.

Till today, the state has registered 33470 COVID-19 positive cases, which is the second largest in the region after Assam.
