Police recover five bodies in Tripura

The five bodies including an infant were found dead by the police on the same day in different places in Jolaibari-South, Amarpur-Gomti and Kailasahar-Unkoti districts in Tripura on Tuesday.

Tripura Police recovered five bodies from different places in Jolaibari-South, Amarpur-Gomti and Kailasahar-Unkoti districts in Tripura on Tuesday.

Police identified one of the deceased as 40-year-old Bir Singh. A police team recovered his body from Unkoti tourist spot, and injury marks found on the body have led them to suspect foul play.

Furthermore, the body of a suicide victim, Fanindra Sarkar (65), was found hanging in a rubber plantation in the Kalsi Mukh area and the body of Nitai Bhowmik of Ashram Para, Jolaibari, was discovered in an agricultural field.

Police also found the body of a newborn baby along the Navram Bari Road in Koifang ADC village and later recovered an unidentified body from the Gomoti River.

Police have sent the bodies to Baikhora Primary Health Centre and Jolaibari Social Health Center for post-mortem examination.
