The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) representing the eight major student organisations in northeast India, has expressed solidarity with the Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF).

The Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) observed a black day on January 8 being the second Anniversary of the brutal atrocity committed by security personnel upon TSF activists who took part in a democratic rally against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) or CAA at Madhav Bari, Tripura.

“The security personnel involved in the heinous atrocity should have been punished, but sadly till today no one involved has been punished or punitive action was taken against them,” NESO stated in a press release.

NESO also demanded legal action against the police personnel involved in the unwarranted firing upon the indigenous people of Tripura.
