AGARTALA

The newly appointed Tripura BJP Prabhari (state in charge) Vinod Sonkar, arrived at the Agartala airport on December 5.

Several party leaders including the Bharatiya Janata Party Yuba Morcha were present to welcome Sonkar, who later also visited the temple of ‘Maata Tripureshwari’ in Udaipur on the same day.

Sonkar held consecutive meetings with the party’s office bearers and presidents of various ‘Morchas’, regarding the party agendas.

Reportedly some BJP Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and senior leaders were not satisfied with the present state leadership under Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

To address their unhappiness, some senior BJP leaders from the state went to Delhi to meet the National President JP Nadda and others in October.

Some MLAs and state leaders want a change in the present leadership and the state cabinet, it was told to the media by the discontented BJP leaders.

Sonkar is likely to meet the dissident MLAs and senior leaders on December 6.
