Kidnapped trader's body found in Tripura after 47 days

AGARTALA:

Tripura Police, on Thursday, recovered the body of Liton Das at Ranirpara jungle in North Tripura district.

Das was abducted by an unknown extremist group on November 27 from his house in Damchhara.

Police had been trying to locate Das for the last 47 days with no results.

Das (35) a fish seller by profession was a resident of Jayrampara area near Katua Bridge.

It was reported that the abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs 1.5 lakhs from Das, and his family was in no position to pay the hefty sum.

Condoling the murder, Chief Minister Biplab Deb assured that action would be taken against the group involved in the murder.
