CJI inaugurates e-service centre at Tripura High Court
"Systems like e-Sewa Kendra would help the people to get more access to the legal system," Chief Justice of India said.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde on Wednesday inaugurated an e-service centre at Tripura High Court in Agartala.
The e-service centre was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, Akhil Kureshi and judges, Subhasis Talapatra and SG Chatterjee besides others.
Addressing the gathering, the CJI spoke at length about the advent of technology and, how it can be used to improve governance and enhance public service delivery.
"Systems like e-Sewa Kendra would help the people to get more access to the legal system," he said.
He also highlighted the rich culture and heritage of Tripura.
The e-Sewa Kendras have been created in High Courts across the country to enable litigants to obtain information in respect to the case status and to obtain copies of judgments and orders. These centres also extend assistance in e-filing of cases.
The CJI arrived in Agartala on Wednesday where he was welcomed by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. From there, he went to Udaipur Tripureswari temple and later to Tripura High Court.
