Centre makes Aadhaar mandatory for Brus to avail benefits in Tripura, Mizoram

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) government of India on Tuesday made the Aadhaar identification mandatory for availing benefits under the Central scheme of ‘Grant in Aid to Government of Tripura and Mizoram for the rehabilitation of Bru Migrants’.

Under the scheme, financial assistance is given to the eligible bru persons through the state government institutions.

According to the notification by the MHA, an eligible beneficiary desirous of receiving the benefits under the Scheme is required to furnish proof of possession of the Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication.

Any eligible beneficiary desirous of receiving a benefit under the scheme who does not possess the Aadhaar number, or has not yet enrolled for Aadhar shall have to apply for Aadhar enrollment, provided he is entitled to obtain Aadhar, MHA stated.
