39th Edition of Agartala Book Fair from February 26

AGARTALA:

Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Deb Barma, on Monday, said that the 39th edition of the Agartala Book Fair, 2021, would begin from February 26 at Hapania fairground.

Last year, the Tripura Publishers Guild opposed the government’s decision to organise the book fair at Hapania and boycotted the event because the venue was outside Agartala city.

However, this year the Tripura Publishers Guild appealed to the government to rethink their decision.

Barma said there would be huge discounts and no registration fee.

“This year’s Agartala Book Fair theme is Amader Tripura, Srestha Tripura, meaning Our Tripura, Best Tripura,” Barma said.

‘Publishers from Bangladesh, Guwahati and Kolkata will take part in the event,” he added.
