Tripura: Suspected Islamic State collaborator arrested

AGARTALA: The porous borders of our neighbours and the inability to collect and disseminate intelligence has been the bone of contention.

Infiltration bids have increased over the past few months in some states. A person suspected of collaborating with Islamic State (IS) terrorists has been arrested from Bankar area of Belonia town in South Tripura.

Police said the person, identified as Nur Mohammad (31) has been residing in the area for the past few months.

Recently, law enforcement officials found his movement suspicious and finally detained him based on intelligence inputs.

The threat of the Islamic State(IS) sympathizers have been taken seriously by both India and Bangladesh with the recent attacks in neighbouring Bangladesh, rumours have been floating around of attempts to enter into Indian soil through Assam but with the increase of vigil along fracture lines these bids have failed.
