Tripura, Nagaland & Arunachal to be placed under total lockdown from today
NORTHEAST INDIA | MARCH 23, 2020:
In view of the massive outbreak of Novel Coronavirus across the globe, the Northeastern states of Tripura, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh will be placed under total lockdown from today as a part of preventive measure against covid-19.
While rest of the northeastern states have imposed restrictions in public places and movement of inter-state vehicles including inter-state bus, railway and air services.
Joint secretary of the union health ministry Lav Agarwal said that the decision has been taken in order to prevent escalation of coronavirus among people.
Altogether 80 districts in the country and nineteen states have been put under lockdown due to coronavirus threat and the latest is the northeastern region. Apart from this, entry and exit of visitors to state secretariat have been restricted
In an order, the under-secretary to the government of India, M.Pena said that those, who want to meet the secretariat officers will have to obtain permission in advance for the meeting.
Besides, the employees of the secretariat have been barred from moving on the corridor of the secretariat building and any other room without any official work.
This steps have been taken so to prevent the menace of coronavirus spread in the region.
